To start off, our names are Ashley and Zara. We are currently in middle school living in Singapore and LOVE all animals. Although there are many animals in Singapore and all over the world that need help, one main thing that stuck out to us was how almost all the time if we saw an HBD building or really any apartment complex and even some houses, there would be people who had birds in those tiny hanging cages that were way too big to be kept in cage like that. And yet, almost no one was doing anything about this.

 

 Although this problem has been going on for many years, we decided it was time to step up and actually do something about this cause. That's why I created Flying Feathers, a non-profit organization that helps raise awareness for birds that are kept in those tiny cages and have no way to escape out of captivity and into the city of Singapore to explore like the other birds around them.

 

I have made a petition that you can sign if you go to the "How You Can Help" tab, which is to ban the small bird cages in Singapore. We also are planning to put flyers around on community notice boards in popular spots in Singapore. If you happen to see one, we would love it if you email us (go to the "Contact Us" tab) some feedback about what we can improve on for our flyers and even our website in general.
