The Problem

To start off, in my opinion, birds are meant to be in the wild, not in captivity. In the wild these beautiful birds are never alone, they are with their friends who the flock together, play with each other etc.

That's why this is a problem. When birds are caught and sent into captivity, it's basically death haunting them. They are usually alone and wondering what has happened to them. A bunch of stress is on them and they are usually Malnourished considering all they eat is that bird mix that you can get at the local pet shop that doesn't have all the vitamins and nutrients they need.

The reason why I choose to focus on small cages is because almost everyone in Singapore has them, and yet, don't think it's cruel. You see big parrots or even pigeons in those tiny commercial wire mesh tweety bird cages, they try to get out by biting on those wire mesh bars which can make them sick because of the paint. And they try to flap their wings and fly, which only injures their wings more and can sometimes make them stuck. And of course, lots of times these can lead to death.

I believe this is a problem worth fighting for, and hopefully after you read this so do you.
